Is it possible that Halloween is only four days away? Sorry for the lack of Halloween posts. I only have some recipes. Today, I am posting my first Halloween recipe: mummy dogs.
You should now know that this hot dog only requires three ingredients: crescent roll, hot dogs, and mustard. As I was wrapping up these hot dogs, I realized that I didn’t have any mustard. I only have Dijon mustard in grainy form. I was in a panic and searched the refrigerator to find something I could use. The ketchup would have blended in perfectly, but I then saw the light of some leftover garlic aioli. I then put a spoonful in a Ziploc and piped out the dots as accurately as possible. Whew.
INGREDIENTS:
Crescent rolls (8 ounces) in a tube
Eight hot dogs
Mustard for garnish
DIRECTIONS:
Preheat oven to 375°F. Line a baking tray with parchment paper or a silicone mat. Set aside.
Roll the crescent rolls out into one sheet by placing two triangles together and pinching the seams. This will make a square. Cut each rectangle into six strips using a sharp knife or pizza cutter.
Wrap three strips around each hotdog, leaving space for “eyes” at the top.
Place in the oven and bake for 20 minutes or until golden brown.
Allow to cool for 5 minutes, then add dots of mustard as “eyes” and serve immediately.
